Overview

NPCs are certain characters that can be found within the main lobby of the game, as well as in certain areas of your runs! Most NPCs will have various dialogue messages when you interact with them, be sure to say "hi" to them every so often!

Certain NPCs will also give the player a small dialogue cutscene when they enter a specific area for the first time in their run. These cutscenes are mainly to help introduce some additional game mechanics or lore to the player, which may have not been included in the Tutorial.

Main Lobby NPCs

Master of Return

The Master of Return will revive the player whenever they die (or lose their run) and bring them back to the main lobby.
Master of Scribing
Npc2
The Master of Scribing helps provide some basic, but useful information to the player whenever they interact with him.
Master of Guarding
Npc3
The Master of Guarding will provide the player with some basic lore to the game the first time they meet them. The Master of Guarding is the only NPC in the game to not speak when interacted with.

In-Game NPCs

The Master of Shopkeeping NPC will appear in the Spell Shop.

The Master of Shopkeeping will provide some useful information about the Spell Shop, as well as having a chance to spawn a random Shop Machine.

Master of Forging

The Master of Forging will appear in the Holy Mountain.

The Master of Forging will provide some useful information about the Holy Mountain, which contains topics such as the Offering Pedestal and Anvil of Destiny.

Joe? the Lost
Npc6
Joe will appear in the Cave System.

Joe will tell the player which item they still need in order to complete the Drill Quest. After completing the Drill Quest, Joe will give some random dialogue about timeline-related topics.

Merchant NPCs

The Master of Advantage NPC will allow the player to purchase a Shortcut Portal, at the cost of 3 emblems, that skips the first floor of the run, as well as giving 50 shillings in the process.
Unlock Method:

Found in the Dungeon Cell of the Lecture Hall.

Master of Tailoring
Merchant2
The Master of Tailoring NPC will allow the player to purchase a random hat cosmetic for 10 emblems.
Unlock Method:

Found in the Dungeon Cell of the Enchanting Dome.

Master of Tarot
Merchant3
The Master of Tarot NPC will preform a Tarot Card reading for 2 emblems- which slightly effects the start of the player's next run.
Unlock Method:

Found in the Dungeon Cell of the Mycelium Emporium or Purification Plant.

Master of Discovery
Merchant4
The Master of Discovery NPC will allow the player to potentially learn a new spell in their Progress Journal for 1 emblem.
Unlock Method:

Found in the Dungeon Cell from The Vault.

Master of Support
Merchant5
The Master of Support NPC will allow the player to purchase friendly golem familiar, at the cost of 5 emblems, which will spawn at the start of each wave- similar to that of the Sturdy Branch relic.
Unlock Method:

Found in the Dungeon Cell of the Frozen Cavern.

Master of Treasure
Merchant6
The Master of Treasure NPC will grant the player a random Tier 3 spell at the start of their next run for the cost of 5 emblems.
Unlock Method:

Found in the Dungeon Cell of the Spell Forge.
