Overview[]
Anathema is an activated relic which places a deadly curse onto the player which will instantly kill them if they were to take damage during the wave this relic was consumed. If the player manages to survive the wave, the curse will be lifted and they will receive 3x the amount of Wave Reward loot they would usually obtain.
As of update v1.10, this relic has gained a recharge time statistic which allows it to be consumed again after filling its required charge amount.
Interactions[]
- The Crafting Sack relic will have a higher chance of crafting high-tier loot when used with this relic's effect, as the Wave Rewards will drop far more items.
- The Vial of Ambrosia relic can help the player survive longer during the wave if they were to make a mistake and take damage.
- Ambrosia flasks will help the player not take any damage during the wave as long as they are standing in them.
- Spells and relics which grant the player shield hearts such as the Energy Shield spell are extremely useful in allowing the player to not instantly die when taking damage, as taking damage with shield hearts does not count as taking actual damage.
- The Phoenix Feather relic will not protect against the instant kill effect of this relic whenever the player takes damage.
- Spells and relics which apply self-damage such as the Life for Power spell, Blood Magic spell, or Pestilence will still instantly kill the player while this relic's effect is still active.
Additional Notes[]
- The player can only activate this relic while a wave is not currently active.
- The player can active this relic in areas such as the Spell Shop and Holy Mountain. This means that if the player takes any damage after using the relic, while the curse is still active, they will instantly die.
- The Wave Rewards that are tripled will be determined from the current wave score the player received at the end of a wave.
- When using this relic's effect, it is also recommended to use the Shrine of Glass effect found in the Spell Shop- as it will allow the player to gain various wand buffs without the downsides for the floor.
